Sales people enter customer requirements for specifications,
delivery, pricing, and more into the FileMaker Pro database. With
this information recorded and catalogued, marketing and development
employees then analyze the requirements and determine whether the
company can meet them. With the right approvals, the company moves
ahead with formal proposals to capture sales.
The resounding success of this FileMaker Pro application lies in
the fact that the sales, marketing and development departments,
some 50 users, can share detailed customer information at any time
across the Web, or via the company's intranet. For this
application, FileMaker's Web publishing features play a paramount
role, and its multi-platform capabilities allow it to run on the
company's existing Mac server.
